Pssst.... new project in the works!
Project Sound System (PSS) is a free introductory workshop on sound and music technology for teens (16-19) in New York City's low income communities. With a curriculum designed and taught by professionals in the entertainment industry, this workshop will explore principles of sound, analog and digital, trouble shooting, setting up and breaking down equipment, basic repair, and more. Students will gain hands on experience, acquiring industry level skills in live sound engineering as well as DJing. PSS encourages critical thinking through problem solving. It cultivates community building skills through teamwork, nurtures the curiosity teens already have for technology and music, and positions students for rewarding employment opportunities. The pilot workshop will be held in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn this winter, 2014.
